My homework policy is as follows: Most nights, with the exception of Friday, students will have a short homework assignment. All homework is due the following day. If homework is not turned in students will complete the assignment during recess and will receive a penalty of 5 pts per day on the overall grade. I expect exceptional work habits every day and I hope you will encourage your child to be responsible. In order for your child to be successful it will take all of us working together. If homework is habitually not turned in I will request a conference with you and your child to discuss why this may be happening.
My grading policy is as follows: I typically take a letter grade in each subject area 2-3 times a week. Participation grades will also be given periodically and will not be announced. This grade is an easy 100%; however, if your child chooses not to participate in class/group work the grade will be adjusted accordingly. Again, responsibility rest with the student-Don’t miss out! Any failing assessments will be sent home for parent signatures. If your child is absent it is his/her responsibility to ask what they missed and get any notes from a fellow classmate.
Each Tuesday your child will bring home his/her parent/teacher communicator. This folder is to be signed and returned weekly. Failure do so will result in a note or phone call home. This is a form of communication between students, parents and teachers.
